Terms of Service
Last updated October 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Davos Dev LLC (“tufu”, “we”, “us”), the company that operates tufu, an AI support service for websites (the “Service”). By creating an account, joining a team, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you have authority to do so; “you” then means that organization. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. The Service
tufu lets you set up AI assistants (“bots”) that answer questions from content you provide, show them on your websites as a support chat or an Ask console, answer the support emails you forward to it, answer questions in your Discord server, and hand conversations to people on your team, who can reply from the web inbox, email or Slack. The Service is meant for businesses and professionals, not for personal or household use.
2. Accounts and teams
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and able to form a binding contract.
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account, and you must tell us promptly at support@tufu.ai if you suspect unauthorized use.
- Work in tufu belongs to a team. Team admins can invite and remove members, change settings, and delete the team. The customer the team belongs to is responsible for its members' use of the Service.
3. Plans and payment
- Free plan. Every team starts on the Free plan, with the limits stated on our pricing page. Some features may be marked beta.
- Before we charge you. You won't be charged unless a team admin chooses a paid plan, buys an answer pack or turns on auto-recharge.
- Paid plans. Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You authorize us to charge your payment method for them.
- Answers. Plans include a monthly allowance of answers, as stated on our pricing page. An answer is one reply a bot writes on tufu's AI, in any channel: a chat bubble on your site, an Ask console in your docs, a WordPress plugin, email, Slack and Discord. A reply on Claude Haiku 5.5 with reasoning off is one answer. On Team, a bot can run on Claude Sonnet 5.5 or Claude Opus 5.5, or reason more, and each reply then counts a set number of answers, shown wherever you choose. Repeat Ask questions served from the cache, suggested replies, summaries and chat titles are free. On Team, answers on your own AI key are free and unlimited. Answers you get when you try a bot from the dashboard count too. Answers on your own AI key have their own allowance: limited each month on the Free plan, unlimited on the Team plan.
- Answer packs. Answers beyond a plan's monthly allowance are bought in advance, as answer packs at the prices on our pricing page. A pack is used only after the month's included answers run out and doesn't expire while your team exists. Nothing is billed after the fact: when the answers run out, bots stop answering on our AI until the next month or the next pack.
- Saved card and auto-recharge. When you buy a pack or save a card, Stripe keeps the card for your team. If a team admin turns on auto-recharge, you authorize us to charge that card for the pack they chose, in advance, whenever your team's remaining answers fall below the threshold they set, up to the monthly limit they set. Each charge buys a pack before its answers are used and is confirmed by email. Admins can change or turn off auto-recharge, or remove the card, at any time. If a charge fails, auto-recharge turns off and we don't retry until an admin turns it back on.
- Installation help. The Team plan includes free help putting tufu on your website when your team asks for it (at checkout or from a bot's Preview page). We give it on a best-effort basis: there is no service level agreement, no guaranteed response or completion time, and no promise that every website, platform or theme can be supported. If you give us access to your website or an account so we can help, give only the access needed and remove it when we're done; we use it only to install tufu. You remain responsible for your website and the changes made to it.
- Cancellation and refunds. You can cancel at any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Fees already paid are not refunded or prorated, except where the law requires otherwise.
- Price changes. A subscription keeps the price it started at for as long as it stays subscribed: a new price for the Team plan applies only to new subscriptions. A new price for answer packs applies only to packs bought after the change.
- Taxes. Prices exclude taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for applicable taxes.
4. Usage limits
To keep the Service available and protect it from abuse, we limit how many answers one visitor can get from a bot, and how many answers a team can use on our AI, within a few hours; we may pause answers on our AI for everyone if usage is far above normal; and one person can be an admin of a limited number of teams. When a limit is reached, the bot stops answering for a while; if it lets visitors ask for a person, it points them to your team instead. The current limits are described in our help docs. We may change them to protect the Service. Answers on your own AI key don't use your answers on our AI, and bots on your own key keep answering if we pause our AI; on the Free plan they have their own monthly allowance. The per-visitor and team limits still apply to answers on your own key.
5. Your content
“Your Content” means what you and your team put into the Service: knowledge sources (files, website pages, repositories and other content you connect), bot settings and instructions, and the conversations on your bots, including your team's replies. You keep all rights in Your Content. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process and transmit Your Content only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service for you, including by sending it to the AI providers that generate answers and make your knowledge searchable.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to provide Your Content, including permission to have the Service read any website, repository or workspace you connect. We do not use Your Content to train AI models.
6. Your visitors and their data
When people use a bot on your website or anywhere else you connect it (“Visitors”), you decide what the bot does and what it asks for, and we process Visitors' personal data on your behalf. You are responsible for:
- telling your Visitors, in your own privacy notice, that you use an AI support service and how their data is handled, and for any consent or other legal basis that your Visitors' data requires;
- not presenting the bot as a human. The chat shows when a person from your team has joined;
- not asking Visitors through the Service for sensitive data, including payment card numbers, government identifiers, passwords, health information or other special categories of personal data; and
- handling the requests your Visitors make about their data. We will help as described in the Data Processing Addendum.
Support email. If you forward a support address to tufu, you confirm you're allowed to have that mail processed by us, and you're responsible for the replies sent from it: tufu emails your customers in your team's name (from our address, with replies going back to yours), and the bot answers automatically unless you turn that off.
Our Data Processing Addendum is part of these Terms and governs our processing of personal data on your behalf.
7. AI-generated answers
- Answers can be wrong. Bots generate answers automatically from Your Content and, if you turn it on, the model's general knowledge. Answers may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and links to sources may not support every statement. You are responsible for your bots' configuration, for reviewing how they answer, and for any answer you choose to rely on or send.
- Not professional advice. Answers are not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. Don't configure a bot to give such advice where that would require a license or a human professional.
- AI providers. Answers are generated by third-party AI models (currently Anthropic's Claude; Voyage AI indexes knowledge). If you add your own API key, that provider's agreement with you also applies, and you pay that provider for your usage.
- Suggested replies and summaries for your team are also AI-generated. Review them before you send them.
8. Integrations
You can connect third-party services such as Slack, Discord, Google sign-in, email and your own AI provider account. Your use of those services is governed by their terms. When you connect one, you authorize us to access and exchange data with it as needed for the features you use. We are not responsible for third-party services, and features that depend on them may stop working if they change or become unavailable.
Your platforms. Where you use tufu on a platform you run, such as a WordPress site or a Discord server, that platform is yours, not ours: you choose to add tufu there, you are responsible for having the right to do so and for following that platform's terms and policies, and its provider is not our subprocessor. On Discord, you are also responsible for your server's rules and for letting its members know that what they ask tufu's bot reaches your team through tufu. You instruct us to delete a member's Discord messages when the member or Discord asks us to, and tufu's Discord app is subject to Discord's terms for apps.
9. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service must follow our Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these Terms.
10. Our property and feedback
The Service, including its software, design, embed components and documentation, belongs to us and our licensors. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service, and to place our embed code on your websites, during your subscription and in line with these Terms. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely and without obligation to you.
11. Confidentiality and security
We treat Your Content as confidential: we access it only to provide, secure and support the Service, when you ask us to, or when the law requires it. We protect it with reasonable technical and organizational measures, described in the Data Processing Addendum.
12. Suspension, termination and your data
- You can stop using the Service and delete your team at any time.
- We may suspend or end your access, with notice where reasonable, if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if your use creates a security, legal or abuse risk, or if we stop offering the Service. If we stop offering the Service for reasons other than your breach, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any prepaid fees for the unused period.
- When a team is deleted, its content is deleted from our live systems within 30 days and from backups as they expire, within 90 days, except where the law requires us to keep it. Before you delete a team, export anything you want to keep (from Reports on the Team plan, or ask us at support@tufu.ai for an export).
13. Disclaimer of warranties
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any answer will be correct.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither tufu nor Davos Dev LLC will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim and (b) one hundred US dollars (US$100). These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose, and do not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Indemnification
To the fullest extent the law allows, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless tufu and Davos Dev LLC, and our officers, employees and contractors, from claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) Your Content, including claims that it infringes someone's rights; (b) your bots' answers to, and your dealings with, your Visitors, including your compliance with the laws that apply to their data; or (c) your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will post the new version here with a new date, and for material changes we will tell team admins by email or in the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the updated Terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using the Service and delete your team.
17. General
- Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under laws that cannot be waived.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, with the Acceptable Use Policy, the Data Processing Addendum and the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Severability and waiver. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Force majeure. Neither of us is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including failures of networks, power or third-party providers.
- Notices. We send notices to the email address on your account. Electronic notices satisfy any requirement that a notice be in writing.
- Survival. Sections 4, 6, 9 and 11 to 16 survive the end of these Terms.
