# tufu > AI support for small teams. Your docs answer first; when a visitor needs a human, tufu pings whoever is on support and they reply from email or Slack. tufu is for small teams, from solo founders up, who want visitors answered right away without staffing a help desk: online shops (shipping, sizing, returns, custom orders), sales-led teams (pricing questions, leads handed to a person), and software and service businesses (how-to questions from docs). The bot answers from the team's own docs and links to the page it learned from. When a visitor needs a person, tufu pings whoever is on support, and they reply from email, Slack or the web inbox. The reply shows up in the visitor's chat. ## Product - Support chat: a chat bubble for any website (the `` element), with a "Talk to a human" button. - Ask console: a docs search box that answers questions from your docs (the `` element; Cmd/Ctrl+K opens it). - Human handoff: the visitor asks for a person, or the bot hands off when it can't help (account problems, billing, bugs). The bot pauses while a person takes over. - Pinged only when needed: a visitor asks for a human, a request is still waiting after a reminder time, or a visitor replies in a conversation you took. Never because the bot answered or a chat started. - Reply from anywhere: the live web inbox, a reply to the notification email, or the conversation's Slack thread. Each notification includes a one-line summary and, when your docs cover it, a suggested reply. - Team routing: notify everyone, specific people, or take turns. - If the visitor has left, your reply reaches them by email. - Support by email: forward your support address (Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook or any provider) to your bot's tufu address. The bot answers what your docs cover by email, in your team's name, and hands the rest to your inbox; your team replies from the inbox, email or Slack. - Knowledge gaps: the questions your bot couldn't answer well, grouped and ranked by how many people asked. Answer one once and the bot knows it from then on. - Setup checklist: a new team's steps (add knowledge, try the bot, put it on your site, invite a teammate) tick themselves off as they're done. - Knowledge sources: websites and help centers, uploaded files (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, text), GitHub repositories and zip files of Markdown docs, Slack, and Confluence. On Team, websites, GitHub and Confluence can refresh every week on their own. - Placement controls: choose which websites can embed the bot, and which pages show it. ## Pricing - Two plans, per team (no per-seat pricing). Every team starts on Free; nothing is charged unless an admin chooses Team or buys a pack: - Free: $0, 1 bot, 200 answers a month on tufu's AI plus 1,000 a month on the team's own AI key, "Powered by tufu" branding, handoff to the web inbox and email, support by email, knowledge gaps. - Team: $49 a month (or $490 a year), unlimited bots, 4,000 answers a month on tufu's AI (about 1,000 conversations on Claude Haiku 5.5), unlimited free answers on the team's own AI key. Also on Team: Slack: handoff threads, buttons, and answers in your workspace; Routing, take-turns rotation and reminders; Business hours and quiet hours; Reports and CSV export; Knowledge that refreshes itself every week; Remove tufu branding from the chat and search; Discord: answering and handoff; Free installation help. More answers in prepaid packs, from $0.005 an answer (2,000 for $20, 8,000 for $60, 40,000 for $200), never expiring, with optional auto-recharge up to a monthly limit. - Team's price is the early access price. Locked in for as long as you stay subscribed. The price for new teams goes up after early access. - Models on tufu's AI: on Free, bots answer with Claude Haiku 5.5, reasoning off, one answer a reply. On Team, each bot can use Claude Haiku 5.5, Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Claude Opus 5.5, with reasoning off, low, medium or high, and a reply counts more answers on a stronger model or with more reasoning (computed from the model's price, and shown wherever a bot's model is chosen): Claude Haiku 5.5 off 1, low 2, medium 3, high 6; Claude Sonnet 5.5 off 20, low 28, medium 51, high 111; Claude Opus 5.5 off 56, low 56, medium 101, high 222. Claude Opus 5.5 always reasons a little: off counts and runs as low. - Both plans can bring their own AI key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, xAI or OpenRouter) and pick any of the provider's models and a reasoning level; replies on the team's own key are never counted against tufu's AI answers. - Nothing is billed after the fact: answers beyond the monthly allowance are prepaid, and when they run out, bots stop answering on tufu's AI until the next month or the next pack. Visitors can still ask for a person, and repeat Ask questions are still answered from the cache. - Usage limits stop one visitor or a runaway bot from using up a team's answers; when one is reached, the bot pauses and, if it lets visitors ask for a person, points them to the team. - tufu's AI runs on a leading AI model through a commercial API that doesn't train on customer data; knowledge is searched with a dedicated retrieval model, under terms and settings that keep it from training on customer data. - tufu does not train AI models on customers' docs or conversations. ## What counts as an answer An answer is one reply a bot writes on tufu's AI, in any channel: a chat bubble on your site, an Ask console in your docs, a WordPress plugin, email, Slack and Discord. A reply on Claude Haiku 5.5 with reasoning off is one answer. On Team, a bot can run on Claude Sonnet 5.5 or Claude Opus 5.5, or reason more, and each reply then counts a set number of answers, shown wherever you choose. Repeat Ask questions served from the cache, suggested replies, summaries and chat titles are free. On Team, answers on your own AI key are free and unlimited. ## Integrations Where the bot answers and where your team hears about it. It answers from your docs, links the page it used, and has a Talk to a human button. - [Ask console](https://tufu.ai/docs/ask-console/): A search box for your docs.
