tufu for Confluence

The wiki already knows the answer. Let it say so.

Your team wrote the how-tos, the policies and the setup notes in a wiki space. tufu reads that space, so the bot answers from it instead of someone pasting links all day.

What to know

  • What it reads

The current pages of one space, by its space key, split at their headings. Archived pages are skipped, and so is any page with read restrictions on a user or a group.

  • What it needs

Your wiki's address and its space key. A public space needs nothing more; a private one needs a username and an API token, which tufu keeps encrypted and never shows again.

  • Which plan

All plans can add a space and re-read it by hand. Team adds Refresh every week, so a changed page reaches the bot without anyone remembering.

How it works

Connect a space.

  1. 01Open Knowledge in tufu, press Add knowledge and choose Confluence.
  2. 02Paste the wiki's address. For a cloud site the address under atlassian.net is enough: tufu adds the /wiki part itself.
  3. 03Type the space key, the short code in the space's address. For a private space, add your username and an API token made in your account settings.
  4. 04Tick Refresh every week if your plan has it, then save. tufu reads up to a thousand pages and shows each one on the source with its passages.

Questions

Before you start.

Will it read pages people shouldn't see?

Pages with read restrictions are left out even when the token could open them, so the bot only learns what the whole space can read. Keep anything internal in a space you don't connect.

Can I connect more than one space?

Yes, as separate sources, one space each. A Boost from 0 to 10 decides which one wins when both match.

Does it work with a wiki on our own server?

If its address is public and served over https, yes. tufu only fetches from addresses on the public internet, on every request and every redirect.

Where does the answer link to?

To the page in your wiki, so a teammate can read it whole. Headings there carry no anchors, so the link goes to the page rather than the section.

Set it up before your next support email.

Free to start, no card needed. Point it at your site and it's answering in about ten minutes.
