tufu for GitHub
Your docs live in a repo. Now they answer customers too.
Developers write docs where they write code. Keep doing that: tufu reads the repository, and the support bot answers from whatever the latest commit says.

What to know
What it reads
The files of the newest commit on the default branch that match the filter you pick: Text for Markdown and other text files, PDF, or Custom, a regular expression of your own.
What it needs
A public repository, typed as its owner and name, like acme/docs. No token and no app to install: tufu fetches the commit as a zip, up to 50 MB.
Which plan
Every plan, Free included, re-read when you press Re-read. On Team it can also refresh itself every week.
How it works
From repository to answers.
- 01In tufu, open Knowledge, press Add knowledge and choose GitHub repo.
- 02Type the repository, owner first, a slash, then its name, and choose which files to read. For only Markdown, a Custom pattern such as .*\.md$ does it.
- 03Pick the bots that answer from it on each bot's Behavior page. With a single bot, tufu adds it for you.
- 04Ask your bot something the docs cover. The answer links the file on GitHub at the commit tufu read, so the reader lands on exactly that text.

Questions
Before you start.
Can it read a private repository?
Not today. The source reads public repositories only. For private docs, upload the files, or export them as a zip of Markdown at a link only you share.
Which branch does it read?
The repository's default branch, at its newest commit when the read starts. tufu remembers that commit, and the next read picks up whatever has been merged since.
Do code files end up in answers?
Only if your filter lets them in. The Text choice reads Markdown and other text files; a Custom pattern keeps the bot to a docs folder if you want.
What does a re-read cost?
No answers. Reading knowledge isn't metered, and files that didn't change since the last read aren't processed twice.
