What it does
Where your customers already message you.
- Bring your own bot. You make the bot in Telegram, so its name, picture and @username are yours. tufu only gets its token, keeps it encrypted, and never shows it to anyone again.
- Private chats answer everything. Someone opens your bot and types a question. The answer comes back in seconds, with the pages it used listed underneath, and follow-ups carry on as one conversation until the chat goes quiet for a day.
- Groups answer only when asked. Add the bot to a community group and it stays out of the way: it speaks up when someone mentions it, replies to it or sends /human, and ignores the rest of the chatter.
- A person, one tap away. Every answer has a Talk to a human button. Pressing it, or sending /human, puts the chat in your inbox and pings your team by email or Slack. The bot goes silent until you hand it back.
- Reply from wherever you are. Answer from the tufu inbox, the notification email or a Slack thread. Your message lands in their Telegram chat under your first name and team, and your email address stays private.
- Buttons for choices. When the bot offers options, such as times to book, they show up as buttons under its message, so customers pick with a tap instead of typing.
Set up
Set it up in a few minutes.
- 01In Telegram, open @BotFather, send /newbot, and pick a name and a username. It replies with a token.
- 02In tufu, go to Settings → Integrations, press Set up Telegram, choose which tufu bot answers, and paste the token.
- 03Write to your bot to try it. For groups, add it there; to have it see mentions, make it an admin or turn off its privacy mode in @BotFather.

Before you start.
Does tufu read my groups?
Only the messages meant for the bot. In a group, Telegram itself shows a bot in privacy mode only its commands and replies to it, and tufu drops anything else it receives without storing it.
How long can an answer be?
Telegram fits 4,096 characters in a message, so a long answer arrives as a few messages in a row, with the sources at the end of the last one.
What if my token leaks?
Send /token to @BotFather for a new one, which turns the old token off, then disconnect and connect again in tufu with the new token.
Can more than one tufu bot be on Telegram?
Yes. Each tufu bot can answer as its own Telegram bot, for example one for customers and one for a partner group.
